Revenge is SWEET!!! Another “just for fun” Pickleball Club/Bocce Club tournament took place on Sunday, September 9th at tennis courts 5 & 6. This time we all played pickleball and the Pickleball Club got the win. The final score for this tournament was 23 to 7.
Bob Iacopi, the dual tournament organizer did a great job! Both clubs had so much fun and despite the heat everyone played. We had 36 players in all. Those bocce people are quite good and really got into the spirit cheering each other on.
Kudos to Garry Gray of the Pickleball Club and Marion Logie of the Bocce Club for getting all the participants. A big thank you goes to all the pickleball players who provided instruction to the Bocce Club members. Mike Walias was an excellent tournament facilitator and kept everyone moving. David Cook, our wonderful webmaster, took reservations for both clubs online. Robyn Siebenthall, Kathi Ashby, and Ginny Spencer set up and provided delicious food and much needed drinks.
We are so lucky to have so much support here at The Villages. The Pickleball Club appreciates it!
