We hope all of you are having a nice start to your summer, including your Pickleball adventures!!! It has been quite hot out there lately, and the prime time courts are more in demand, so it is now time to make adjustments to Group Instructional Play reservation times based upon the recent court usage and the estimated Summer-Fall court usage.
Please note that all of the below changes will take effect starting Friday, July 15th.
Due to current lower usage and projected lower demand, we will be reducing the number of reserved courts for the Novice Group play on Thursdays from 2 courts to only 1 court.
We are now combining Advanced players with Advanced-Intermediate players for the Monday, Wednesday and Thursday timeslots that were previously only for Advanced Group play. This is being done to encourage the stronger intermediate players (advanced-intermediate) to come and try playing with other stronger players. Additionally, due to the Summer heat, the Monday Advanced-Intermediate Group play time will change from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
The final change is to release court reservations for all Group Play times/courts 2 days prior to the actual play day. Previously we did this 1 day ahead of time. For example: Courts reserved for Monday will be will be released Saturday by noon.
This change will give others a greater chance to see the new open courts and to then book/use these open courts to play with their own private sets of players. Because of this change, it is even more important for all players who want to play at the Group Play times to BOOK THEIR RESERVATION AT LEAST 2 DAYS AHEAD OF TIME. Otherwise, courts may be released from Group Play. You can still drop-in and play if it works out (having enough courts for how many players are there). It will be possible, however, that you may be asked not to play if there are too many players for the number of courts. That is why it is preferable to sign up ahead of time, if at all possible.
We are making these changes to try to accommodate the various requests and preferences of our numerous players. We can’t satisfy all of the requests, from all of the people, all of the time … but we are trying to be flexible and satisfy as many people as possible, while we make incremental changes over time.
If you have any questions regarding these changes, then ask your Group Play Leader or contact Steve Simler. Full details on Instructional Group Play and how to sign up is available on our website.
Enjoy the Game!!!! BTW … this applies to Pickleball as well as Baseball!!!
