The Pickleball Club held their first inter-club mixer of the year on Saturday, May 23rd. The format tournament director Karen Ruth selected was a Queen/King of the Hill, when allowed for a new player every game.
After each game, winners and losers were split up and moved to different courts, ensuring new partners throughout the event. It’s a great format for a mixer because it creates opportunities to meet and play with new people — and plenty of future games were arranged among new friends!
There were two mixed divisions, both played six games. The A division had 8 entries, the B division had 16.
At the end of the play, the royalty was crowned with their courts in attendance:
Division A:
King Peter Groot finished with a record of 5–1. His court included May Lien, Margaret McDaniel, and Gerhard Ringel, each finishing with a record of 4–2.

Division B:
We had three Kings — Norm Krishna, Bert Tang, and Cat Tran — each with a record of 5–1. Their court included Karen Ruth and Srini Srinivasan, who each finished with a record of 4–2.

A great time was had by all, and Val provided a wonderful spread for both breakfast and lunch. A special treat was served — corn dogs — along with gnocchi, hard boiled eggs, salads, fresh fruit kabobs, veggie cups, and lots of other goodies.
Thanks to our wonderful photographer, Cat Tran, you can view the photos from the event!
